CALLOUT
for QLD 2022-2023
CALLOUT: Red Swag Films (RSF) is seeking your stories – read on….
PROJECT #1 – ‘SILVER LINING’ – RSF is seeking to create five to ten-minute stories – problems, reactions and your solutions ie. what is/was, your ‘silver lining’ moment(s)? Everyday people or business owners who have been severely interrupted by the lockdowns, annual bushfires, police interactions (and more) the past two years – how has this time affected your lives; but very importantly, how have you reinvented yourselves or your businesses’s to overcome and stay standing during these very difficult times. What makes your story standout from others? How simply, have you dealt positively with the pressures? RSF needs you to tell your stories of heartaches, losses, loneliness, challenges, and… your efforts to salvage, or not, your lives.
Note: Aussie-born Producer Jaya is 1/2 Danish, so as a resolve point for each ‘silver lining’ story, she wants to inject an element of ‘hygge‘ into each story ie. “Hygge is a feeling of cosiness and comfort that you create while enjoying the simple pleasures of life.” It is important we leave each filmed story on a positive note, as without such energy, life is without hope – lets build up the light of love, looking towards a brighter future.
ONGOING CALLOUT: PROJECT #2 Project Pivot
PAID CONTENT
All ‘Silver Lining‘ films created will be paid viewing content for subscribers ie. not ‘freebies’, as we have running costs, petrol, wages, etc to cover. You will not be paid for sharing your story. However, getting your voice out there is the reward – being heard, seen, acknowledged, and sitting in your truth’s, produced by an independent film company – we are not affiliated with any political, pharmaceutical, religious or other such vested interests, so you are not going to be cohersed into telling anything other than your truthful experiences. And we love our work – we are film creatives creating fab stories in a challenging business and social climate.
Initially, we aim to complete one story every one to two weeks, depending on story complexity, driving distances, etc ie. film and life’s variables.
WHAT IS REQUIRED FROM YOU FOR OUR CONSIDERATION
We need you to do SOME work!
Please write down your story in a simple dot-point format – clarify a simple beginning, middle and ‘silver-lining’ ending (ie. READ THIS) – then send to us in PDF format via email (details on the CONTACT PAGE ).
NB. If you don’t write your idea down, we cannot consider your storyline for filming. Must be do-able – no special effects or super expensive shots; just a solid filming and edit effort to create a space for your thoughts and feelings with our clever heads at creating a beautiful visual format.
No, you don’t have to put your face to camera if its just too difficult – we can work off some of your photographs, film some footage that is pertinent and use an audio backdrop to tell the story. But for the best visual story, gather your courage and put your face on camera – we will help you overcome your fears, to make this an pretty awesome experience for you.
RSF will INITIALLY be filming with two good quality smart phone cameras – no fancy high-end camera gear at present (but Jaya – the Producer – has successfully created many high-quality short films using smart phones).
WHAT ELSE DOES RED SWAG FILMS NEED RIGHT NOW?
We are seeking sponsorships, donations, fiscal support to get these projects up-and-running. Accomodation, food, petrol, basic computer/website running costs ie. living costs towards being able to film are part of this gig – we are not a multi-national media company – but a wee-small independent film company, doing our best to produce honorable work, beginning this first project in a difficult and challenging business and social climate. Tell us how you can contribute towards RSF, and we will consider your offer. Chasing a great story does take fiscal support, as well as team-work, tenacity, skills and good intuitive instinct.-
We are in early days, and need to build both the crew/admin team and our reputation carefully. Prudence with our budget means, we start from where we are at with camera gear and software – we won’t pretend to be a high-end fancy gig, because we are not that to begin with; but, we will transparently state, we will do our best to create fab stories with the best technical quality we can manage, sensibly. Then, who knows how that small seed of an idea, planted carefully into the soil of imagination and hard work, will grow into a big, strong tree of life’s opportunities and community appreciation – we are all living the adventure of life, despite all challenges – so, lets work together for unity, strength of vision and with common sense.
